Slow Dances is a collaborative research process between Ethan Philbrick and six dance artists—Anh Vo, Tess Dworman, Niall Jones, Tara Aisha Willis, nibia pastrana santiago, and Moriah Evans—into the colonial history of a Baroque dance form called the Sarabande used by J.S. Bach in his Suites for Solo Cello (1720). In October 2020, The Kitchen published the results of the first iteration of collaborative research in the form of an audio-essay, series of images, and video documentation.
